Richmond Neighbrohoods

Our real estate agents at Napier ERA are here to assist you every step of the way as you explore homes for sale in Richmond area neighborhoods. As the capital of Virginia, Richmond is a wonderful place to live no matter if you're looking for fantastic jobs or the best schools in the state.

Richmond is truly a place where a growing family can thrive. Schools are well-funded, with a rich slate of extracurriculars and a high degree of college placement. Many of the leading businesses offer internships for rising students. And, of course, there's the University of Richmond a short hop away.

Richmond has been around since 1737, so it's no surprise it has developed several distinct and vibrant neighborhoods. On any tour through the area, the civic pride of Richmond can be witnessed everywhere in its eye-catching architecture, well-kept green spaces, and excellent infrastructure.

Finding a neighborhood that resonates with you is one of the first steps in choosing a Richmond home. There's plenty of history and culture to enjoy everywhere you look in Richmond – but which of these cozy communities is right for you?

Let's take a closer look at some welcoming Richmond neighborhoods for you and your family:

  1. Bellevue
Bellevue is one of the most iconic local neighborhoods, combining eclectic charm with a dash of antique flair. It's a close-knit community where history and hipness mingle. Under the sight of its classical stone arch, Bellevue has been in the midst of a growth phase since 2004. Plenty of new restaurants, grocers, teahouses, coffee shops, and yoga studios have since moved in.

With thousands of real estate agents in the Central Virginia area, it's tough for any one agent to win an award from the Richmond Association of Realtors. That's why we're absolutely delighted to announce that Napier agents were honored four times at the recent Richmond Association of Realtors at the 2018 RAR Awards and Officer Installation.

David Hamil

Our first congratulations goes to David Hamil, winner of the 2018 LaVerne A. Boschen, Jr. Outstanding Educator of the Year Award for his commitment to education for the Richmond Association of Realtors. David works through the association to train and certify that all agents are up to speed on new regulations, legal requirements and a host of other requirements that any agent licensed in Virginia must adhere to. David has been a member of the Napier team for almost 18 years, having managed two of our offices (Mechanicsville and West End) and is now an associate broker at our West End office now. Thank you, David, for your years of service and dedication to teaching Realtors in our area.

Named for her outstanding commitment to community service is the managing broker of the Napier ERA Tri-Cities office, Libby Gatewood. Libby has been a licensed real estate sales associate in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 1979 and obtained her broker license in 1982. She is a licensed certified residential appraiser and a licensed real estate instructor. In addition to serving Napier agents and clients in the Colonial Heights, Petersburg and many other tri-cities communities, Libby is very active in serving her community through the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation and other charitable organizations. Libby received the C. Porter Vaughan, Jr. Outstanding Service Award for her faithfulness to the principles of organized real estate and community involvement. Libby was also inducted as the Vice President of the Board of RAR for 2019. We offer our congratulations and thanks to Libby for all that she does for breast cancer awareness and research as well as the commitment you have to upholding and enhancing the values of Realtors.

Last but certainly not least, a hearty congratulations to Dianne Long, winner of the coveted Realtor of the Year award! Winners are chosen based on their faithfulness to principles and laws of organized real estate, efforts to encourage good real estate practice among other real estate brokers, time spent with press and general public explaining the real estate profession, as well as their work with the Richmond Association of Realtors, the Virginia Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Winners are also chosen on the basis of involvement in community affairs and their business accomplishments. Dianne has served on several committees and is a past recipient of the RAR Lifetime Membership award and Outstanding Sales Associate of the Year award. A Napier agent for more than 30 years, Dianne is known for serving with class, commitment, and a smile on her face. Congratulations, Dianne, for this prestigious award and thank you for contributing to Central Virginia's real estate market for many years. We are blessed to have you on the Napier ERA team.

Mark Joyner, David Hamil, Libby Gatewood, Dianne Long, and Jim Napier

One more note for this special night is for Cory Metts, who was accepted into RAR's distinguished Leadership Academy. The Leadership Development Academy is a six-month program designed to develop visionary, service-oriented Realtor members for professional, civic and community leadership roles, and those selected represent the cream of the crop of young Realtors. Cory is an alumnus of Longwood University and stays very active throughout the Central Virginia area in his work with the Young Leaders Board of World Pediatric Project, the YMCA board, and CAPITAL& Career Accelerator. We look forward to having Cory on our team for a very long time!

The 2018 RAR meeting and celebration was held at the beautiful Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. If you haven't gone to see their lights yet, make it a priority to go this holiday season. From Bob Ross to unicorns to a peacock, there are many beautiful light displays that will de-"light" you, your family, and friends. Check out the holiday-themed GardenFest here!

Thank you to RAR for recognizing real estate agents' hard work and commitment and hosting such a great evening celebrating the future of real estate. Congratulations to all honorees and officers. It is a distinguished privilege to work in a community of Realtors committed to advancing our communities and elevating the profession.

Don't forget to send your words of congratulations to our team on Facebook and Instagram. If you're interested in joining the award-winning Napier ERA team, please visit our recruiting website at joinnapierera.com!
