   The Richmond Children's Museum is offering a visit with Old St. Nick through its Sensitive Santa program. It's a calm, quiet experience for kids who sometimes find things overwhelming. Visitors will have access to Children's Museum Downtown exhibits and the Genworth Holiday Village, too – hey, who knew that the North Pole was so close to Richmond homes for sale?

Hopewell, Virginia has attracted plenty of new faces over the last several years. Your "trash" could be a veteran's treasure. This week, Napier ERA is teaming up with Tech for Troops to gather used electronics to be given to veterans and their families. They'll even securely erase all your data using D.O.D. approved security measures so you don't have to worry about it. Old laptops, phones, tablets, PCs, etc. Only things we can't take are printers, scanners, old CRT/glass monitors and cracked LCD screens.

The Thanksgiving "turkey trot" is an annual tradition our real estate agents love – and we're not the only ones. Plenty of area families sign up for a turkey trot each year. It's a great way to earn that extra slice of pumpkin pie! Luckily, there are plenty of options across the Richmond area.

The turkey trot is the most popular racing trend in America. In 2015, Thanksgiving became the single busiest day of the whole year to run a race, finally unseating the Fourth of July. Believe it or not, the turkey trot tradition goes all the way back to 1896.

That's right – 1896!

The first turkey trot ever took place in Buffalo, New York and was hosted by the local YMCA. While there were only six participants in that original race, today's turkey trots attract hundreds!
