Holiday Lights Napier
The Richmond area shines brightly each holiday season with an array of enchanting light displays and festive events that capture the magic of the season. From grand illuminations to local parades and tree lightings, these gatherings offer residents and visitors alike a chance to experience the joy and wonder of the holidays. For most of us, including our real estate agents, these dazzling light displays around Richmond homes for sale and Petersburg homes for sale add to the festive atmosphere in November and December.

  • Yuletides at Agecroft - Agecroft Hall & Gardens, 4305 Sulgrave Rd., Richmond, VA 23221
It's a Charles Dickens kind of holiday during Yuletides at Agecroft. The beloved author and characters from his books are only a few of the people you'll "meet" in this tribute to holidays past and present. The gardens, courtyards, and museum are all trimmed in decorations dating from the 1600s to the 1940s. An appearance from Father Christmas highlights a day of crafts, music, and refreshments. Hours are 12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday, 12/8 and admission is free.

  • Tacky Lights Tour - GRTC Park & Ride, 2900 Gaskins Rd., Richmond, VA 23233
See local residents channel their inner Clark Griswold on the Tacky Lights Tour, which has quickly become a popular holiday tradition. Richmond Limousine scouts out the best locations and maps out a route for the two-hour tour. With vehicles that include SUVs, stretch limos, party buses, and motor coaches, tours can accommodate groups of 5 to 50 guests. Visit the website for more information. Want to plan your own tour? The Richmond Times-Dispatch has been compiling a definitive guide to tacky lights for the last 30 years.

  • Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights - Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, 1800 Lakeside Ave., Richmond, VA 23228
Find out why Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights earned the #1 spot on USA Today's "10 Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights." Upwards of a half-million lights form displays based on this year's theme, "Home & Habitats: A Celebration of Connection." Other sights include model trains in the Kelly Educational Center, miniature houses in the Fairy Village, and homemade natural wood trees decorated by students from Henrico County Public Schools. Advance tickets are required and must be purchased online. Visit the website for pricing and the full schedule, including GardenFest for Fidos Mondays.

  • Holiday and Tree Illumination - 243 Sycamore St., Petersburg, VA 23803
On December 7, Petersburg will bring festive cheer with its annual Holiday Parade and Tree Illumination event. Starting at 3:00 pm at Poplar Lawn, the parade will wind down Sycamore Street, concluding at Union Train Station. This lively parade will be followed by the tree lighting ceremony, marking the start of the holiday season with glowing lights and joyful activities. Residents and visitors are invited to participate or simply enjoy the vibrant festivities. With parade applications open until November 22, this is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the season in the heart of Petersburg!
