If you're like many of us, you might have a bit of clutter around the house. Why not use National Give Something Away Day to clear the excess--especially if you're getting ready to sell your home?

Richmond Picnic AreasCelebrate National Picnic Month at One of These Area Parks

July is National Picnic Month.  What better time to pack a picnic basket and head out to your favorite park with family and friends.

Part of the Richmond area's draw is our wealth of green spaces.  It's not hard to find a soft patch of grass to spread out a blanket for the ultimate al fresco dining experience. With so many options available, we thought we would help you narrow down your choices.

Our REALTORS® take a look at five favorite parks and picnic spots in and around Richmond.

  1. Armour House at Meadowview Park – 4001 Clarendon Road, Henrico, VA 23223
When you're in the market for one of our Henrico homes for sale, you'll soon discover why Armour House & Gardens is an ideal setting for an afternoon picnic. Enjoy the view of the Victorian-style historic home located on the grounds. Visit the scenic walking trail, manicured gardens, or the flowing fountain before or after your meal. It's all located just minutes from the local elementary school.  Many of the area's cultural and art events take place here, too.

Richmond real estate offers many wonderful opportunities to homeowners, including the chance to enjoy some of the state's best Independence Day bashes.

If you're looking for something to do to celebrate our nation's freedom, check out these events:

  1. Chesterfield Fourth of July Celebration – 10300 Courthouse Road, Chesterfield, VA
Chesterfield homes for sale will light up this summer thanks to the always fun Fourth of July Celebration in town. Live music will set the scene starting at 5 p.m. while you dine from the tastiest local food trucks. Little ones will love it thanks to the children's inflatable play area. RVA Area Food Trucks

Food trucks have long been loved around the world, with some of the longest-running trucks in cities like London, Oxford, and Cambridge in the UK. Today, this global phenomenon has spread across the United States.

Not surprisingly, our area is on the cutting edge of this trend in the United States. Our REALTORS® agree--there's nothing like a local Richmond food truck for a scrumptious lunch.

These trucks, which roam our streets, show up just in time for lunch, a festival or pre-game tailgating party to quiet the cravings of hungry bystanders with a cornucopia of fare from paninis and tacos to Asian fusion and funnel cakes.

Here is our list of six favorite food trucks to visit.  While it is certainly not definitive,  it is a great "sampler" of where to find some of the best food trucks in our area.

Note: Most food trucks in Richmond do not have fixed locations, although there are some areas of town that are more popular than others. To get the latest information on where to find your favorite truck, check out its website or visit Food Trucks In, which gives you live truck status.
