Celebrate National Picnic Month at One of These Area Parks

July is National Picnic Month.  What better time to pack a picnic basket and head out to your favorite park with family and friends.

Part of the Richmond area's draw is our wealth of green spaces.  It's not hard to find a soft patch of grass to spread out a blanket for the ultimate al fresco dining experience. With so many options available, we thought we would help you narrow down your choices.

Live music will set the scene starting at 5 p.m. while you dine from the tastiest local food trucks. Little ones will love it thanks to the children's inflatable play area. Blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged. The night closes at 10 p.m. with fireworks.

Food trucks have long been loved around the world, with some of the longest-running trucks in cities like London, Oxford, and Cambridge in the UK. Today, this global phenomenon has spread across the United States.

Not surprisingly, our area is on the cutting edge of this trend in the United States. Our REALTORS® agree--there's nothing like a local Richmond food truck for a scrumptious lunch.  

These trucks, which roam our streets, show up just in time for lunch, a festival or pre-game tailgating party to quiet the cravings of hungry bystanders with a cornucopia of fare from paninis and tacos to Asian fusion and funnel cakes.  

Here is our list of six favorite food trucks to visit.  While it is certainly not definitive,  it is a great "sampler" of where to find some of the best food trucks in our area.
